The Designer

Romi Hill learned to knit early in life after begging her crocheting mother incessantly. It was immediate love. She knit off and on throughout several phases of life, until in 2002, she resumed knitting passionately after a long hiatus. Soon, she discovered the internet knitting community and began experimenting. Learning to knit lace prompted the 2005 founding of her company Designs by Romi, selling handmade shawl pins and sweater closures. In 2006, she began designing knit jewelry and lace. Her patterns have appeared in Knitty, Knitscene, Interweave Knits, and Twist Collective, among others. Interweave Press published her book: "Elements of Style: Knit + Crochet Jewelry with Wire, Fiber Felt + Beads" in late 2008. Since then, her self published eBook subscriptions and patterns have attracted hundreds of knitters in need of a little lace in their lives.
