Save yourself some time and don’t ask what Julia Mancuso can do. Instead, ask what she can’t do. Squaw Valley–bred “Super Jules” broke onto the World Cup circuit at age fifteen, competed in the Olympics at age seventeen, set a U.S. record for Junior World Championships medals (five gold, three bronze) before she was out of her teens, and started her twenties by capturing two World Championships medals. She went on to win gold in her second Olympics and two silvers in her third. Her running tally of five World Championships medals proves she is not even close to slowing down. “At this point in my career, I really want to win. I go into every race with the attitude that you have to put it all on the line.” In her down time the philanthropist, gym owner, underwear designer, and professional free spirit enjoys surfing, yoga, paddleboarding, and everything about the ocean life at her home away from home in Maui.
